Description
The Albertina houses an important collection of drawings and old master prints in a building that was repurposed as a palace in the mid-18th century. The main collection is complemented by Impressionist and early 20th-century art, modern graphic works, photographs and architectural drawings. Highlights include the Study for the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, some drawings from Albrecht Dürer and Pieter Bruegel the Elder, and some Monet paintings.
Access & Transport
The museum is on the southern side of Innere Stadt, about 200m east of the Hofburg. Bus 2A stops next to it on Albertinaplatz, 'Oper, Karlsplatz U' tram station (1, 2, 71, D) is 200m south, Karlsplatz metro station (U1, U4) 300m south and Stephansplatz metro station (U1, U3) a 5mins walk to the north.
