Corniche Beach, Abu Dhabi - by Craig Valgean on Google
Description
Corniche Beach is a 2km stretch of sand along Corniche Rd, on the northwest shores of Abu Dhabi's city centre. Most of it is reclaimed land. The beach is divided in 3 sections, two of which charge an entrance fee and are targeted at families and ladies, being shielded from view with a fence. The third one (Gat 4 - Al Sahil) is free of charge and best for males.
Access & Transport
Buses 21, 23, 33, 34, 63 and 175 stop next to the beach on W. Corniche Rd.
Instructions & Recommendations
Don't forget the usual protective equipment (hat/cap, "green" sunblock, sunglasses, slippers), towels and some water.
Environmental & Social
Low carbon footprint but the whole Corniche area was reclaimed on the sea. Socially neutral
Conclusion
Corniche Beach is the most convenient beach to reach for anybody staying in the city center and if you are only looking for some time lying on the sand then this really is a good option. However, if you are after a quality natural beach with enjoyable water and sand, then you should look for alternatives.

Good infrastructure and F&B options nearby
Key negative
Poor sand quality and artificial origin
Better for females if they are accompanied
