Meta review

Solid reviews for the market that almost made some visitors want to cook... The highlights there are the architecture, the fish and olive section, as well as the 'square full of bars with terraces, always very lively on weekends' at the back of the complex. Reviewers comment that prices appear reasonable and that though it is nice, it isn't that different from some other Spanish markets.

Environmental & Social

No environmental / sourcing data The small producers' aspect is a positive from a social perspective. Not over-commercialized

Conclusion

Alicante's central market is not too touristy and is a great option for those looking to stock on local produce and delicatessen. The architecture by itself warrants a detour and olive fans should definitely check out some of the stalls.
