Meta review

This is the most famous museum in the country alongside the Van Gogh Museum and forms part of any city itinerary, be it on travel blogs or magazines. Reviews are excellent too with visitors highlighting the large number of Dutch artists masterpieces but also the magnificent building architecture. For many, it ranks as one of the best museums in Europe.

Environmental & Social

Some environment impact to run the museum (mostly electricity) but it implements several sustainability-driven actions such as wastewater treatment, use of renewable energy and some CO2 offset. It has a 5 stars BREAAM-NL In-Use rating. Positive from a social perspective by helping spread culture and the arts.

Conclusion

The Rijksmuseum is a top-tier cultural attraction by international standards, its collection is not only extensive but of high quality as well - all this in a wonderful and centrally located building. An unmissable 3-4h stop on a first time visit but also worth a repeat visit.
