Description
The Museum of Huesca comprises an archaeological and a fine arts sections. It is housed in two buildings: the baroque Sertorian University of Huesca with its octagonal courtyard and the 12th century Palace of the Kings of Aragon where the Throne, Bell and Queen Petronila Rooms are located. The Archaeological collections consist of artefacts from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages as well as Iberian and Roman ceramic pieces, and Islamic fabrics. The Fine Arts collections span the 12th to 20th century religious paintings and sculptures.
Access & Transport
The museum is on University Square, next to the Cathedral. The city of Huesca is 75km northeast of Zaragoza along the A-23. There are also direct trains linking the cities in 1h30mins.
