Museo Diocesano de Jaca - by Jose de la Ossa on Google
Description
The Diocesan Museum of Jaca exhibits Romanesque and Gothic mural paintings of the churches of the diocese (such as that of Bagües). It is housed in the rooms surrounding the cloister of the Jaca Cathedral.
Access & Transport
The Cathedral is situated in the center of town, just off the main road linking Huesca to France (N-330a). Jaca is 1h drive north of Huesca and 150km north of Zaragoza via the A-23.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggested combining this museum with a visit of the Cathedral (there is a combined ticket option and guided visits available) and of the citadel.
Environmental & Social
Minor carbon footprint (electricity) and helps preserve the region's artistic heritage.
Conclusion
A real gem for amateurs of religious arts but still worth a detour for those with more general cultural interests. The perfect anchor to a visit of Jaca.
