Roda de Isabena Cathedral - by Joaquin F on Google
Description
The Roda de Isabena Cathedral is a Romanesque church built in the 11-12th centuries. The layout and access to the crypt is very unusual. Other highlights include the portal with six flared archivolts and the cloister. Trivia: Roda de Isabena is the smallest town / village in Spain with a cathedral seat
Access & Transport
The village is 55km northeast of Barbastro (N-123 and A-1605), 55km east of Ainsa and 110km northeast of Huesca (via Barbastro).
Instructions & Recommendations
Guided visits last about one hour and generally take place 3 times every morning (11h15, 12h30, 13h30) and 2 or 3 times in the evening (16h30, 17h30 and 18h30 in the summer) The number of visitors is limited to 40 per tour so you may consider booking online ahead of time at certain times of the year.
Environmental & Social
Environmentally neutral. Preserves the area's architectural and artistic heritages and brings some economic activity to this rural area
