Mills Museum Mazonovo - by Julio Teixeira on Google

Description
Mazonovo is a series of cereal mills turned museum in the western countryside of Asturias, at the confluence of the Turía and Cabreira rivers. The first mill was built in 1890 and also includes exhibits of Mesopotamian and Egyptian hand mills from around 3500BC as well as a gravity mill and a hydraulic press. The second mill was built in 1941 and includes a power station with comprehensive explanations of its operations, including that of the grinding stones. The museum also has workshops and milling activities for visitors.
Access & Transport
Mazonovo is in the municipality of Taramundi (on the AS-21), close to the border with Galicia (Lugo Province). The closest large town and cities are Lugo (65km), Oviedo (160km), and A Coruña (150km).
Instructions & Recommendations
Link to the museum map (in Spanish): https://mazonovo.es/DESCARGAS/Guia-visita-Museo-Molinos-Mazonovo.pdf As Catedrais beach is 40km to the north so the attractions form a good combo.
Environmental & Social
No carbon footprint and set in a green environment. Tourism brings some economic activity to this rural area.
Conclusion
Something different and quite unexpected with some educational value that is suitable for all ages but, considering the location and how short the visit will eventually take, we can only recommend it to those driving through the area of Northern Lugo province or Western Asturias.,
