Freediving introduction in Amed with Fusion Freedive

Fusion Freedive - by Management
Description
Fusion Freedive is a free diving and spearfishing operator offering courses in the Amed and Sanur in Bali. Freediving essentially consists in diving underwater in apnea (without breathing air from external sources - unlike scuba diving), the aim being either to go deep, or far (dynamic), or enjoy the marine life. This review is for the 1-day introductory course to freediving held in the village of Amed. The Level 1 course is aimed at novices but is held over 2 days and some operators such as Fusion also offer 1-day Intro classes that include a theory aspect, some breathing and relaxation practice, lunch, and an open water session with duck dives along an underwater line.
Access & Transport
Amed is 70km / 2h30 northwest of Ubud, 85km / 2h45 from Sanur and 95km / 3h from the Kuta-Seminyak stretch. To Singaraja on the north coast of the island, it is an 80km / 2h15 drive.
Instructions & Recommendations
All professional freediving specific equipment is provided (included in course fee) so simply bring your sunscreen, swimwear and a towel.
Environmental & Social
Green activity Helps promote small independent operators
Conclusion
Ideally you would want to go straight to a Level 1 two-day course but if you do not have that extra day or looking to tack-on a spearfishing class this is an excellent, fun and interesting option with a reputable operator in one of the best locations for the job in Bali.
