Description
Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (GWK) is a tourist attraction located in Ungasan, on Bali's Bukit Peninsula. It comprises several large-scale statues of Hindu deities, in particular a 75m tall and 65m wide statue of Vishnu riding the mythical Garuda bird that was designed by Nyoman Nuarta. Together with the pedestal, the monument tops at 121m, making it the country's largest statue. Other sights in the venue include the Lotus Pond lined by limestone walls, a bust of Vishnu and a separate statue of Garuda.

Environmental & Social
Environmentally neutral. Socially, it helps create some local jobs.
Conclusion
GWK is somehow of a strange concept and whilst the main statue is worth checking out, it feels rather strange to build a commercial attraction around it. If you are staying in the Ungasan / Uluwatu area it may be worth checking it out, but otherwise you might as well just have a look from a distance and continue on.
Key positive
Stunning statue of Vishnu mounted on Garuda
Key negative
Lack of purpose and content
Suitability
Suitable for all ages. There seem to be stairs within the park, but we can't ascertain whether there are alternative routes suited to wheelchair users. Apparently, there are also some golf buggies that can help ferry customers so we think it should be fine.
