Jimbaran Beach - by astama81 from Pixabay
Description
Jimbaran was until a few years ago primarily a fishing village located just south of Bali airport. The crescent-shaped beach is west-facing with calm waters and the beige-coloured sand is quite fine. The stretch is popular for its fresh seafood restaurants with tables right on the beach and the southern end has moved markedly upmarket with several luxury hotel developments.
Access & Transport
Jimbaran can be reached by using the Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai. The beach is 18km from the Kuta-Seminyak stretch and 20km from Denpasar.
Instructions & Recommendations
Don't forget the usual protective equipment (hat/cap, "green" sunblock, sunglasses, slippers) and some water.
Environmental & Social
Environmentally and socially marginally positive: no direct carbon footprint and some economic activity from tourism (hotels are not in scope)
Conclusion
Definitely one of the best beach options in South Bali and visually very pleasant. Recommended for those who want to avoid the Kuta crowds or stay away from the waves and surfers.
Key positive
Lunch or dinner on the beach
Family-friendly beach
Key negative
Water and sand not always clean
Suitability
Suitable for all ages and accessible to visitors with reduced mobility
