Description
Nusa Dua is a resort area in the southern part of Bali. The term often also covers the Tanjung Benoa peninsula which extends towards the north. Nusa Dua Beach is lined by mostly 5 star resorts and stretches over 3km, interrupted by Peninsula Island and Nusa Dharma Island (with its temple) that gave its name to the area: Nusa 'island' + dua 'two'.
Access & Transport
Nusa Dua can be reached either using the Jl. Bypass Ngurah Rai or using the Bali Mandara Toll Rd when coming from the airport, Seminyak or Denpasar) The beach is 14km southeast of the airport, 18km from the Kuta-Seminyak stretch, and 20km from Denpasar.
Instructions & Recommendations
Don't forget the usual protective equipment (hat/cap, "green" sunblock, sunglasses, slippers) and some water. Various water activities are available from vendors on the beach.
Environmental & Social
Environmentally and socially marginally positive: no direct carbon footprint and some economic activity from tourism (hotels are not in scope)
Conclusion
The area is essentially back-to-back resorts that are extremely popular with families. Accordingly, whilst it is not the most spectacular beach on the island, Nusa Dua Beach has quite a lot going for it for those not interested in the waves and who just want a nice stretch of sand to relax on with activities and food options available.
