Description
Casa Batlló is a house designed in the Modernist or Art Nouveau style by Antoni Gaudí on the Passeig de Gràcia in the Eixample district of Barcelona. Its most distinctive features are the almost complete absence of straight lines, the sculpted stonework and irregular oval windows, the colourful mosaics made of broken ceramic tiles used as decoration and the arched roof reminiscent of the back of a dinosaur.
Access & Transport
Address: Passeig de Gràcia, 43 A stone's throw away from Passeig de Gracia (L2, L3, L4) metro station and from a bus stop along the Avenue. Also a short walk from Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes where there are additional bus services.
Instructions & Recommendations
We strongly advise visitors to book online to reserve a specific time and avoid the €4 surcharge applicable when buying onsite. This activity is best combined with a visit of Plaça de Catalunya and a walk along Passeig de Gracia, the high-end shopping street with several other modernist houses.
Environmental & Social
Socially and environmentally neutral
Conclusion
Casa Batlló is one of Gaudi's most famous creations and really stands out along Passeig de Gracia. It is unfortunate the price is so high, otherwise we would recommend a visit without second thoughts, but as it is we would advise people to choose between Milà and Battló based on personal preferences.

Very expensive for a single building visit
