FC Barcelona Stadium tour & Museum

Carrer d'Arístides Maillol, Barcelona, Catalunya

Description

FC Barcelona is a football club that needs little introduction as one of the most successful on the Spanish and European stage. The Club offers various tours of its premises which include the Stadium and the Museum. This review is for the "Basic Tour" (the name is already trying to upsell you...) which includes a Camp Nou Tour and a visit of the Barça Museum. The Camp Nou is the home ground of FC Barcelona, it was opened in 1957 and currently has a seating capacity of 99,354 spectators, making it the largest stadium in Europe.

Access & Transport

The closest metro stations are Collblanc (L5, L9S, L10S), Badal (L5) and Palau Real (L3, T1, T2, T3), each about 500-700m from the stadium. The M12, 113 and H8 buses also stop next to it.

Instructions & Recommendations

Best to book your tickets online ahead of time to ensure availability and avoid having to pay the handling fee at the box office onsite. It is also best to check the timetable and avoid match day as the stadium tour can be more limited then.

Meta review

Reviews for the tour are mostly positive but far from unanimous in that respect. The Fans are just happy to see the stadium and trophies whilst more regular visitors find the stadium and pitch impressive but the tour itself and the price ... not so much.

Environmental & Social

Not much data around environmental and social aspects is available. The tour itself is quite neutral in both respects.

Conclusion

The FC Barcelona Stadium tour & Museum is quite a change from the usual monuments, museum and neighbourhood visits and, with such a pedigree and international fame, it is probably one of the best football club tours to be done. We do not think it is good value but if the budget is not an issue and you are a football fan then we would recommend it.

Key positive

There is no lack of trophies in the Barca Museum!

The field and stadium are quite spectacular

Key negative

Excessively priced. Scope of Basic Tour is purposely reduced to upsell

Not much else to see in the area

Suitability

Suitable for all age but best for football fans. Only the museum and the panoramic view of the field from the 2nd tier is accessible to visitors with reduced mobility as there are many stairs involved in the stadium.
