The Bundeswehr Museum of Military History – Berlin Gatow Airfield is located at a former Luftwaffe and Royal Air Force (RAF) airfield, 20km to the southwest of Berlin (the German name is Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr – Flugplatz Berlin Gatow). The museum focuses on Germany's military aviation history since the end of the 19th century and its collections include over 150 aeroplanes (stored both indoor and on the tarmac), 5,000 uniforms and thousands of books. There are free guided tours every Sunday at 14h00; the meeting point is in front of the tower building
Access & Transport
The visitors' entrance is at Gatow Airfield 33, 14089 Berlin BVG bus 135, from Berlin Spandau station stops at Kurpromenade and Seekorso, just over 1km away (10-15' walk) By car, follow B2 to Am Landschaftspark Gatow. Parking is available onsite

This Military History Museum is worth a detour for those with an interest in all things mechanical, military and/or flying. We would recommend this to anybody based in or around Berlin as well, it is inexpensive and the aircrafts on display are visually impressive.
