Funicular de Artxanda - by Nirenunutsi on Google

Description
The Artxanda Funicular links the northern end of Bilbao with the summit of Artxanda Mountain. It was opened in 1915 and the ride takes 3mins to cover 770m and ascend 226m with maximum gradient of 45%. At the top there is a park, several restaurants, and panoramic views of the city.
Access & Transport
The departure station of the funicular is a short 300m walk from the Zubizuri bridge and 1.5km north from the historical centre (Casco Viejo). The Matiko train station is right next door and the Uribitarte tram station (5) is a 5mins walk across the bridge.
Instructions & Recommendations
Departures are every 10-15mins
Environmental & Social
The funicular is electric, so we deem this activity environmentally neutral (acknowledging electricity does come from somewhere but this is a very short ride). Considered part of the public transport system.
Conclusion
Not quite a tourist attraction but the Funicular de Artxanda is worth considering for those with two full days or more in Bilbao or simply looking to get out of the city for 2-3 hours
