Description
The Mercado de la Ribera is the largest covered market in Europe (10,000m2). It was built in 1929 in Art Deco style and includes stalls and stores surrounding dining tables. There is a range of cooked food and fresh produces, cheese, cold cuts, meat, fish, baked goods and other regional delicacies.
Access & Transport
The market is on the right bank of the Nervion River, at the southern edge of Bilbao's old quarter. It is served by the Ribera tram station (5) and the Zabalburu train station is a 10mins walk away.

Note that the market is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
