Tépacap Ziplining, Bordeaux

10 Rue Archimède, Mérignac, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Description

The Tepacap Ziplining offers 8 zip-lining courses (+1 mini-kid) and other fun activities. For those unfamiliar with the concept, zip-lining consists in sliding down a rope stretched between 2 points of different heights thanks to a suspended harness and pulley. This review is for the "Fun Pass" that not only includes ziplining but also a 12m jump from the Fun Tower, an orienteering challenge and a maze. 3-6yrs old do not have access to the ziplines.

Access & Transport

The adventure parc is located next to the Decathlon sports shop in Merignac, just west of Bordeaux. The easiest way to get there is by car, using the ring road exit 11/11b "Merignac" (depending on where you are coming from). The recommended parking spot is on the Decathlon parking area. It is also possible to take bus 30 from Merignac city centre.

Instructions & Recommendations

Please double check the opening schedule and online booking is possible. Closed shoes are compulsory, rain is not a reason for cancellation, and pets are not allowed.

Meta review

Besides the few disgruntled customers who did not check the website and book before coming on a peak day, reviews are by and large very positive. Parents and children all seem to have fun although it is regularly pointed out that the courses are not the most spectacular Vs other alternatives. Another recurring complaint is that the price is on the high side.

Environmental & Social

Very environmentally friendly activity, except for the cutting / trimming of some branches. No negative social impact.

Conclusion

The Tepacap ziplining is a fun outdoor activity for adults and families alike. Nothing specific to Bordeaux but it can make for a nice change from the old stones, the city and all that wine. Price is a little high but it is close ot the city centre so it is a fair trade-off

Key positive

Different courses and challenge levels so can be enjoyed by almost anybody

Some surge of adrenaline

Key negative

A little expensive

Suitability

Not recommended for older persons. Not suitable for people with mobility issues or other disabilities
