Description
Harvard University is one of the most famous universities in the United States. It has ten faculties set on three campuses in the outskirts of Boston. Harvard College was founded in 1636, making it the oldest institutions of higher learning in the country. The main campus is centred around Harvard Yard in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It spreads over 85ha and contains historical buildings such as the University Hall, the Massachusetts Hall, the Memorial Church or the Harvard Hall. During the university terms, there are some free guided 45-60mins tours led by students several times a day on weekdays.
Access & Transport
Harvard Yard is about 6km northeast of the centre of Boston and the visitor center is located in the southwest corner of the square. The Red metro line stops at Harvard station and only takes 13mins to bring visitors from 'Crossing' station in downtown Boston.
Instructions & Recommendations
Registration can be made online and at the Visitor Centre. Note that these are different from Harvard College Admissions tours.
Environmental & Social
