Museum of Fine Arts, Boston - by Chris Cammarano on Google
Description
The Museum of Fine Arts of Boston houses one of the most comprehensive art collections in the USA. The neoclassical building exhibits artworks spanning a wide range of geographical origins and periods such as Dutch Golden Age paintings, Ancient Egyptian artifacts, Japanese paintings, ceramics and prints, French impressionist and post-impressionist works, 18th- and 19th-century American art or Chinese painting and calligraphy.
Access & Transport
The museum is located in Fenway, in the southwest of Boston. There is a 'Museum of Fine Arts' station on the Green Line E and the Ruggles station (Orange line and trains) is 10mins' walk away. Accessibility info: https://www.mfa.org/visit/accessibility
Instructions & Recommendations
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is only 500m away so logistically both combine well but there is some overlap in the nature of their art collections.
Environmental & Social
Energy and resources usage efficiency has been a focus over the last few years. Details on some actions here: https://www.mfa.org/news/green-initiatives-2019 Helps spread culture and the arts.
Conclusion
Arguably one the best cultural activities in Boston, we would recommend the MFA to visitors keen on looking at a wide range of good art in general and not obsessed with one particular artist or artistic movement. We only wish pricing was a little lower
