Instructions & Recommendations

We recommend booking tickets online in advance to select the show you wish to see and ensure availability + convenient time. Other nearby attractions include the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum of Natural History.

Meta review

Mixed online reviews for the planetarium with a lot of visitors feeling there was little continuity between the exhibits and that those were aimed more at children than adults. The memorabilia from the Apollo 13 mission and the Gemini 12 space capsule are clear highlights and so are the shows. Tip: book your show in advance or run the risk of the one you want already being full.

Environmental & Social

Some electricity consumption and good educational credentials.

Conclusion

The Adler Planetarium is best for families, especially those with the Chicago City Pass. We would rather recommend it to those curious about space exploration and planets but without in-depth knowledge because those with more knowledge risk being disappointed.
