The Field Museum is a natural history museum in Chicago. It was built for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition and now houses a broad range of artefacts as well as a large library used for research purposes. The permanent exhibits include animal habitats dioramas, life in Ancient Egypt, cultural sections on Tibet and China, precious stones and gems, the Ancient Americas and underground biodiversity. Among the highlights are various dinosaur and prehistoric animal fossils.
