Description
Torvehallerne is Copenhagen largest food hall with over 80 stalls and shops selling regional fresh produces, fish and meat, drinks, specialty products from Denmark or overseas and ready-to-eat meals. There are also cafes and restaurants, making it an all-day destination for eating or buying groceries.
Access & Transport
The food hall is located next to Nørreport Station (M1, M2 and trains), on the way towards Dronning Louises Bridge.
Instructions & Recommendations
Nearby sights and activities include the Round Tower, the Botanical Garden, and the Rosenborg Castle & King's Garden.
Environmental & Social
A low carbon footprint attraction with minor sustainability credentials (collaboration to help decrease food waste). Promotes independent, local stall-holders and regional farmers
Conclusion
An enjoyable venue for F&B shopping, breakfast or lunch but it lacks that little bit of charm and atmosphere to make it a real attraction unto itself. Go if you are around but no need to cross town purposely.
Key positive
Plenty of choice
Quality and freshness of products
Key negative
Can be a little busy and overpriced
Suitability
No restrictions
