Roman Bridge of Córdoba - by Nathalie Balaguer Cugnart on Google
Description
The Roman bridge of Córdoba was for two millennia the only bridge across the Guadalquivir River in Cordoba. It first incarnation was in the 1st century BC and it is not until the mid-20th century that an alternative was built. The current version was designed by Islamic architects in the 8th century with 16 arches and a length or nearly 250m. Nowadays, only the 14th and 15th arches (counting from the Puerta del Puente) are original, the rest having been restored/renovated at some stage.
Access & Transport
The main access is from Plaza del Triunfo, on the northern bank, just next to the Mezquita. Bus stop 'Puerta del Puente' is there (3, 12)
