Ain Dubai - by Nadeem Mundokil on Google
Description
Ain Dubai is the world's largest and tallest observation wheel. The wheel is 250m high and visitors in one of its 48 capsules can enjoy panoramic views of Burj Khalifa, The Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and the sea. *** The attraction was closed for technical upgrades at the time of this review ***
Access & Transport
The wheel is located on Bluewaters Island, which is just off the Jumeirah Beach Residence development, close to The Palm Jumeirah. It is best reached by car using the E11 (there is an interchange nearby) or by metro with the DMCC and Jabal Ali stations about 2km away each.
Instructions & Recommendations
Note: those aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 21+ We recommend going on a clear day, sunset might be the best time to get both some daylight and the city lights enhancing the buildings silhouettes.
Environmental & Social
This is a rather large construction project that required a lot of raw materials, steel and foreign labour. Also, electricity intensive to run, including the large LCD screen.
Conclusion
With its slightly offshore viewpoint, the wheel provides a great perspective of the city, capturing both the skyscrapers and the coastline as well as the Palm. This should be quite a family friendly attraction and a great opportunity for some dramatic photographs.
