Quranic Park

Al Khawaneej Street, Dubai, Dubai

Description

Quranic Park Dubai, locally known as Quran Park, is large (60 ha) and divided into 4 sections: (i) the greenhouse that contains nearly 30 plants and trees mentioned in the Holy Quran, (ii) the Lake which has a symbolic meaning, (iii) the Orchards that are spreads throughout the park and (iv) the Cave of Miracles with interactive displays of some of the holy book miracles. The Greenhouse and The Cave of Miracles each have an AED 5 entry fee.

Access & Transport

The park is located in the Al Khawaneej area, in the north-western part of Dubai The closest metro station (Centerpoint on the red line) is quite far away, and you would need to change bus a few times to get there. This means taxi / self-driving is probably the most efficient option. Access through the gates is straightforward with parking right outside

Instructions & Recommendations

It is outdoors in Dubai, so bring your hat/cap, sunglass, and some water. Mushrif Park and Aventura Parks are within walking distance.

Meta review

According to online reviews, the park is out of the way but enjoyable for a stroll, a jog, or a picnic. Most visitors also do value the information provided about the Quran. The main recurring complaint relates to the difficulty in finding a taxi on the way back.

Environmental & Social

The green spaces require some watering but otherwise the park is quite neutral from an environmental standpoint and a positive for the neighbourhood.

Conclusion

Quranic Park is really an hybrid proposition: (i) a large green expanse with many trees and plants for a well deserved break from the city and (ii) the religious content and symbols. Each can be enjoyed separately or as a whole. The main drawback is the location which probably involves a taxi both ways and possibly some waiting time on the way back.
