Wild Wadi Waterpark

Jumeirah Street, Dubai, Dubai

Description

Wild Wadi Water Park was one of the first large scale entertainment parks to be developed in Dubai, back in 1998 - hence its very central location in the Jumeirah district. There over 15 water slides, a lazy river, a wave pool and two artificial surfing installations.

Access & Transport

It is very easy to get to and location is quite central, next to the Burj Al Arab hotel, Souk Medinat Jumeirah and the Jumeirah public beach. The best way to get there is by taxi. Alternatively, the Mall of the Emirates metro station is about 2.5km away and there are some buses plying the route.

Instructions & Recommendations

The main advice is to bring your swimming attire, some sunblock, hat/cap and sunglasses. We'd recommend coupling this activity with one or more others in the Jumeirah area.

Meta review

Most reviewers confirm that they had a good time at the park, especially families. There are some recurring complaints about it being overcrowded at times and looking tired as well as F&B, towel and locker rentals being very pricey.

Environmental & Social

The Park requires quite a lot of energy and water to run but it has some comprehensive sustainability policies and practice to mitigate the impact - details can be found there: https://www.jumeirah.com/en/article/wild-wadi/wild-wadi-and-sustaining-the-environment Neutral from a social perspective.

Conclusion

The water park is a great option for families, with a mix of adrenaline inducing rides and a lot of kid friendly options - although do note that age / size is a limiting factor for most rides (as it should). Probably could do with some renovation, better capacity management and lower prices too.

Key positive

Family friendly

Central location

Key negative

Expensive, especially considering competing alternatives

Food quality should be improved, and price should be more reasonable

Waiting time can be frustrating on some days

Suitability

This is best suited for families looking for kids / teens-friendly activities. Not recommended for visitors with reduced mobility as they would not be able to enjoy the slides or surfing installation
