Instructions & Recommendations

This attraction is not at its best in winter. The adjacent Glasnevin Cemetery is also worth a visit.

Meta review

The online reviews are quite consistent: the gardens are large and make for a pleasant walk with a great variety of plants in part thanks to the beautiful 19th-century greenhouses but the non-primary services are a disappointment, the café and restaurant in particular. Also, there are insufficient parking spaces.

Environmental & Social

Green attraction with conservation credentials that also enhances the living environment of local residents

Conclusion

Dublin's Botanical Gardens may not be one of the city's touristic highlights but they are worth travelling 25mins for if you have time to spare or generally enjoy this type of attraction.
