Migjorn coastline, Formentera

4471 Calle des Arenals, Illes Balears, Illes Balears

Description

Migjorn refers to a 5km stretch of Formentera's south-eastern coastline. It is made up of various coves interspersed with rocky and sandy areas. The most popular beaches include Es Arenals, Es Codol Foradat, Es Migjorn, concluding with the turquoise waters of Calo Des Mort.

Access & Transport

Instructions & Recommendations

Make sure to bring sun protection equipment and water with you.

Meta review

Visitors leaving online reviews enjoy the variety of this stretch of coastline, alternating between rocky areas and beaches, relatively untouched or with restaurants next to it. The only drawback seems to be the occasional patch of seaweeds. Calo des Mort isn't for everybody but is clearly a favourite for its transparent waters. It takes a few minutes to get there and it is quite small so in the summer it can get crowded fairly quickly.

Environmental & Social

Green activity as long as beachgoers and the hotels, bars and restaurants behave responsibly. Not overly commercialized

Conclusion

This is one of the best stretches of coastline in the entire Baleares for beach purists with different options to suit personal and familial preferences. If you don't mind rocky & crystal water, then Calo des Mort should be on your list but head there early (or out of season).
