Description
The Conservatory and Botanical Garden of Geneva includes greenhouses, rock gardens, an arboretum, several banks of protected and medicinal plants, a library, and an herbarium with one of the largest collections of plants and fungi in the world (over 6m specimens). There is also a small zoo, a carrousel (paying), and a kids' playground.
Access & Transport
The gardens are right next to the Parc de l'Ariana, on the west side of Geneva, near the lakeshore The Genève-Sécheron train station (SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4) is at the southwest corner, bus stop 'Jardin Botanique' (1, 11, 22, 25) at the southeast corner, and the Nations tram stop (5) is a couple of mins walk away.
Instructions & Recommendations
Note that dogs and bikes are not allowed inside. We suggest combining this attraction with a visit to the Red Cross museum or the Palace of Nations (advance booking required)
