Instructions & Recommendations

List of closing days: https://www.kfbg.org/en/other/closing-days. Make sure to take some proper shoes with you as the visit involves some walking on relatively steep slopes. We suggest you combine this activity with a hike to Tai Mo Shan or at least in the Tai Mo Shan Country Park or an exploration of the Plover Cove area, past Tai Po.

Meta review

This activity is highly rated by reviewers who enjoy the natural surroundings and conservation efforts. A few visitors aren't too impressed with the keeping of animals in captivity and the steep slopes.

Environmental & Social

Good environmental credentials (conservation efforts and minimizing footprint of operations). Also a good social / community endeavour

Conclusion

The Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden is a commendable project that is worthwhile visiting for those with their own car or planning a hike around Tai Mo Shan. Not on the shortlist for travellers with only a few days but good for families and those looking for activities involving animals, plants and/or the outdoors.

Good exposure to plans and animals for kids

Key negative

Quite out of the way from most other activities
