The Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum collection includes Islamic calligraphy, rugs / carpet art, tiles, over 17,000 manuscripts and 3,000 Qur’ans. In addition, the first floor is dedicated to ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey. It is housed in the ceremony hall of the former palace of Pargalı Ibrahim Pasha who was the second grand vizier to Suleiman the Magnificent.

The museum is located across Sultanahmet Square from the Blue Mosque, 200m away from Sultanahmet tram station (T1).

We suggest combining this activity with Sultanahmet Square / Hippodrome of Constantinople, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and keep Topkapi Palace + Istanbul Archaeology Museums for another day
