Kraków Zoo - by Management

Description
The Kraków Zoo (Ogród Zoologiczny w Krakowie) spreads over nearly 17ha and is home to 1,400 animals from c. 270 species including many endangered ones. Popular ones include the Rothschild's giraffe, Przewalski's horse, pygmy hippopotamus, little panda, snow leopard, Amur tiger, Indian elephant, and the Humboldt penguin. There is a handful of animal feeding shows daily.
Access & Transport
The zoo is located on Pustelnik Hill, in the Wolski Forest, 7km west of Krakow city centre. Bus 134 goes there from 'Cracovia Stadion'. For those driving, there is a car park onsite (PLN20 per vehicle) but access to Wolski Forest is prohibited for motorized vehicles on weekends and holidays. Alternatively, there is a large parking lot 1km away on Kukułcza Street (PLN4/h on weekdays and PLN20 flat on weekends). More info here: https://zoo-krakow.pl/dojazd-i-parking/
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this attraction with the nearby Kościuszko Mound.
Environmental & Social
Part of the World and European Association of Zoos and Aquariums + European Endangered Species Program but little information beside so doesn't score well on social / ethical aspects. Environmentally neutral
Conclusion
Not a key attraction in Krakow by any means for international visitors, in our opinion, but for families with spare time or residents this is a good option, provided you are fine with the below-par captivity conditions of many species.
