Description
The Arsenal Emirates Stadium Tour consists of access to the Arsenal Museum and a self-guided visit of the following: Directors Box, Diamond Club, Players Entrance, Home and Away Dressing Rooms, Players Tunnel, Pitchside and Home Dugout, Flash Interview Rooms, Press Conference Room and Media Lounge. There is also more expensive "Legend Tour" guided by previous players which is out of scope of this review. Arsenal is one of the most famous and successful football clubs in the history of the British and European football. It moved to its new home the Emirates Stadium (capacity of 60,000 spectators) in 2006 - the acquisition put some strain on the club's financials and for several years it was forced to trade some of its star players to fund the purchase and development.
Access & Transport
The best way to reach from Central London is with the Picadilly line to Holloway Road station (300m) or Arsenal station. The Highbury & Islington station is within 10-15mins walking distance and can be reached with the Victoria line, the Overground and the Great Northen lines. The closest bus stop is on Holloway Road, next to the underground station. Parking can be found in the area for those who prefer to drive there but absolutely avoid match days. The museum and tour are entirely accessible to visitors with reduced mobility thanks to lifts.
Instructions & Recommendations
Important note: check match days schedule ahead of time as it impacts opening hours The Stadium Tour ticket desk is located in the Armoury store. We recommend booking in advance (opening hours are impacted by mach day) and combining the tour with a visit to the Angel & Islington neighbourhood or Camden Town.
Environmental & Social
The Club has environmental credentials: it uses 100% green electricity, LED floodlights and recycles most of matchday waste. The tour itself has no real environmental footprint. Socially neutral.
Conclusion
The Arsenal Emirates Stadium tour is something different that we would recommend to football fans that have never been inside a top tier stadium or are Arsenal fans. If that is not your profile, then it may not be worth the price and time investment.
Key positive
Great venue for Arsenal Fans
Key negative
A proper guide would add a lot of value and should be expected at that price
Not that interesting if you are not into pro football
Suitability
Suitable for all ages (best if children are over 8yrs old). The tour and museum are fully accessible via lifts.
