Description
The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens ('The Huntington') does three things as its formal name suggests. It has art collections focused on 18/19th centuries European art (mostly British and French paintings) and 17th to mid-20th century American art, a library designed in Mediterranean Revival style that contains rare books and manuscripts used for research purposes, and 49ha of botanical and landscaped gardens. The most famous of those gardens are the Japanese Garden, the Chinese Garden and the Desert Garden.
Access & Transport
The Huntington is located near Pasadena in the city of San Marino, twelve miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. Parking is free. There are two entrances: Oxford Road and Allen Ave The "Allen' and 'Fillmore" metro stops (L line) are ~3k and ~4k away, respectively.
