Meta review

Most reviewers seem very satisfied with their visit; although there is no flurry of masterpieces, the museum is perfect for a couple of hours and has the right size to be enjoyed without everything turning into a blur. The quality of display and labelling also gets several thumbs up. The consistent message is that one should visit the museum when in Agen or the area, but it is not worth a special journey.

Environmental & Social

Minor environmental impact to run the museum (mostly electricity). Housed in repurposed buildings. Spreads culture and preserves some of the region's artefacts.

Conclusion

The Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Agen is an unexpected gem and should be included in the itinerary of anyone keen on cultural activities and visiting the region. It provides a welcome change of the various villages and bastides and contributes towards a full day of sights and activities in Agen.
