Instructions & Recommendations

We suggest combining this activity with a walk around the Roman Walls and a visit of the Cathedral

Meta review

Not much press for this museum but it does get decent online reviews. Many comments describe it as a typical regional/provincial museum that uses an old building with character to exhibit a wide range of items of various artistic or cultural value - from the average to the impressive; a pleasant way to spend 1h+ especially that the free admission is an open invitation. According to several visitors, the highlights are the mosaics and artefacts in the cloister.

Environmental & Social

Repurposing of an existing building and low running carbon footprint. Preserves the region's artistic and cultural heritages.

Conclusion

The museum will please those on a slow travel mode and/or keen to know about the region's historical and artistic backgrounds. If that is not your profile but you have spare time in Lugo then check it our regardless since there is no admission fee - you are bound to enjoy a few items and learn a few things in the process.
