Meta review

The museum is very well rated in online review portals with visitors using the adjectives of "unusual" or even "quirky" to describe it. They note the advanced warnings for display that may not be suitable to the younger family members and the fact that all the info is available in both English and French. In terms of content, both collections get positive comments: interesting info on the process of film-making and impressively detailed and realistic miniatures. A few complaints about price

Environmental & Social

Repurposing of an old building and helps support an artistic career (miniatures).

Conclusion

An original attraction (rather than a museum) that will be best enjoyed by movie fans and a good option for residents and tourists alike who have already seen most of the city highlights. It used to be fairly priced until 2022 given the absence of public funding but the recent jack-up seem exaggerated.

Key positive

Impressive craftmanship and some educational content

Centrally located with public transport access

Key negative

Few sets / references to recent movies may disappoint the younger visitors

It has become fairly expensive considering the size & content

Curation could be improved / modernized

Suitability

Suitable for all ages. There is a lift from the ground floor to the upper levels but not to the basement floors
