Instructions & Recommendations

Our understanding is that at the time of this review is that all guided tours are in Spanish only; probably because of the lack of foreign visitors.

Meta review

This Spanish Royal Palace is not well known overseas and comparatively less in Spain itself as well Vs other complexes. Reviews are very positive on average, mentioning that it looks sobre from inside but is quite luxurious inside with some beautiful tapestries and period furniture. Since it has been inhabited continuously, visitors get to travel though history and decorative periods as they tour the Palace. There is a debate on whether Franco should be mentioned more but sifting through the available information it looks like the topic is dealt with when necessary and not when it is not relevant.

Environmental & Social

We could not find any environmental or social related information. We deem this activity marginally negative from an environmental perspective (heating/lighting). Part of the country's architectural and artistic heritage.

Conclusion

El Pardo Royal Palace isn't the most dazzling of the Spanish Royal Residences but its history and interior art and decoration warrant a visit - an easy excursion on the outskirts of Madrid.
