Description
Ronda is a town known for its cliff-side location with a deep chasm carrying the Guadalevín River effectively dividing the town. There are three bridges and the Puento Nuevo ('New Bridge') is the newest and largest with a length of 66m, 3 spans and a height of 98m. It was designed by architect José Martin de Aldehuela and completed in 1793. The other bridges are the Roman Bridge and the Puente Viejo ('Old Bridge').
Access & Transport
The bridge is along the main road of C. Virgen de la Paz / C.Armiñán Ronda itself is 60km northwest of Marbella and 105km west of Malaga, in south-eastern Andalusia. Bus L-525 connects Ronda and Marbella in 75mins
Instructions & Recommendations
The best viewpoints are along the slope, below the traffic level, on the west side of the bridge. Other sights in town include the bullring (reviewed separately) and the main square: Plaza del Socorro.

Conclusion
The bridges of Ronda are a sight to behold, but the Puente Nuevo is in a class of its own; an architectural tour de force in a dramatic setting. Well worth the drive
