Description
The Alcazaba of Málaga is one of the best-preserved fortified palaces (the Arabic al-qaṣabah means "citadel") in Spain. The original structure was built in the 11th century by the Hammudid dynasty and connected to the Castle of Gibralfaro by a long, walled corridor. Architecturally, with its double walls and massive entry fortifications, it is considered a perfect example of military architecture during the Taifa period. Inside, there are gardens with fountains and the Nasrid palace is located within the second walled enclosure.
