Description
The Centre Pompidou Málaga is a modern and contemporary art museum housed in a building called "the Cube" (El Cubo) over two floors. It is a branch of the Centre Pompidou in Paris where it gets its artwork from (on a loan basis) for the semi-permanent collections and it also holds temporary exhibitions featuring a wide range of artists. The multi-coloured cube is effectively the roof of the museum, a skylight made of steel and glass.
Access & Transport
Address: Pasaje Doctor Carrillo Casaux, Málaga The museum is located between Docks 1 and 2 of the port. Several buses stop within a couple of mins' walk: along Paseo del Parque, Paseo de las Curas and Paseo de la Farola. There is a car park in Muelle Uno and several others in the vicinity.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this activity with a walk through Málaga Park next door or by the Malagueta beach.
Environmental & Social
Some environment impact to run the museum (mostly electricity). Positive from a social perspective by helping spread culture and the arts.
Conclusion
Some hit and miss of course but the museum can rely on a range of well-known artist names in its permanent collection and a modern and airy space to exhibit its collections. A good cultural activity option when in Malaga.
