Description
Malaga Park or 'Parque de la Alameda' is an urban Mediterranean garden with tropical and subtropical species located on the south-eastern edge of Málaga's historical centre, close to both the port and Malagueta beach. It was designed at the end of the 19th century and built on reclaimed land. Besides the trees, plants, alleyways and fountains, there are various sculptures and monuments to important local and cultural figures such as Rubén Darío, Salvador Rueda or Antonio Muñoz Degrain.
Access & Transport
The park is a continuation of the Alameda Principal and separates the historical district from La Malagueta. There are various bus stops along Padeo del Parque and it is a short walk from many of the city's cultural attractions (Cathedral and museums).
