Description
The Castell de Capdepera is a one of the largest fortresses on the island of Mallorca. It is famous for being the site of the signing of the Treaty of Capdepera in 1231 that set the terms of the surrender of the island of Menorca, then under Muslim control, to King James I of Aragon. The current structure dates from the 14th century as the previous one had been destroyed.

The castle in the village of Capdepera, 9km east of Artà and 80km northeast of Palma. Bus 411 goes there from Artà.
Instructions & Recommendations
