Royal Palace of La Almudaina - by Management
Description
The Almudaina is the Royal Palace of Palma de Mallorca and one of the residences of the Spanish royal family. The castle is the result of the transformation of an existing Muslim fortress in the early 14th century whilst the upper floor was built in the 16th century under King Charles V. The latter is now decorated with objects and furniture from the 17th-19th century and used for formal occasions.
Access & Transport
The Palace faces the cathedral, in the historical center of Palma. Buses CC, 25 and 35 all stop within 100-200m.
Instructions & Recommendations
We suggest combining this attraction with a visit of the Cathedral and/or La Llotja de Palma.
Environmental & Social
The running environmental footprint is low, and it helps maintain the town's architectural and historical heritages.
Conclusion
The Palau de l'Almudaina is the best opportunity you'll get to learn more about royalty and kingdoms when in the Baleares - but if you are not a history buff or do not enjoy castles more than that, then you can give it a miss.
