Description
Santa Ponça beach is a 1.3km long white sand beach in the southwest of Mallorca. It is rated as 'blue flag' with good water quality, lifeguards, good visitors' infrastructure and several water sports and activities available.
Access & Transport
The beach is 18km southwest of Palma and 7km south of Calvia. Bus #103 goes there from Palma
Instructions & Recommendations
It's the beach and the sun can be strong in the Baleares so don't forget the usual protective equipment (hat/cap, "green" sunblock, sunglasses, slippers) and some water.
Environmental & Social
The beach has no carbon footprint but not so for the resort area that also creates a lot of waste. Over-commercialized
Conclusion
The beach is pleasant and quite easy to get to from Palma but it isn't the most impressive on the island. Families may prefer to go there for the day but stay elsewhere in the evenings.
