Description
MacKerricher State Park covers 14km of coastline in Mendocino County, Northern California. It contains a variety of habitats including dunes, beaches, wetlands, the 30ha freshwater Lake Cleone, tide pools and forests. There are trails for walking, cycling, and horseback riding. Glass Beach, at the southern end of the park, is famous for its fields of sand-polished glass pebbles.
Access & Transport
The park is 5km north of Fort Bragg on CA-1, near the town of Cleone. The park encompasses much of the land west of Cleone and a strip of beach between Fort Bragg and Ten Mile River.
