Description
The Indro Montanelli Public Gardens (previously known as Giardini di Porta Venezia) is an urban parc in Milan. It was created at the end of the 18th century and enlarged with some English landscaping in the mid-19th century. Notable buildings include the Ulrico Hoepli Planetarium, the 17th Century Palazzo Dugnani and the Natural History Museum. There is also a statue of the journalist and writer Indro Montanelli after whom the park is named (he was a daily visitor).
Access & Transport
The park is 1.5km to the northeast of the city center / Il Dumo, next to Porta Venezia. The latter has a train and metro station (M1), Palesto metro (M1) is also close by, so is 'P.za Cavour' (T1), Turati (M3, T1) and 'V.le Vittorio Veneto' (T1, T9, T33).
Instructions & Recommendations
We recommend combining this activity with a visit of the Modern Art Gallery and/or Natural History Museum, both in the park itself.
