The Milan Natural History Museum (Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Milano) is housed in a neo-Gothic building in the Indro Montanelli Garden, near the historic city gate of Porta Venezia. It consists of over 20 halls and dozens of dioramas arranged in 5 sections: Palaeontology with fossils of plants and animals (incl. dinosaurs), Invertebrates (spiders, molluscs and arthropods), Vertebrates with many taxidermized animals and skeletons (incl. a 12m sperm whale), the origins of humans from early primates to Homo sapiens; and Mineralogy.
Access & Transport
The museum is next to the Palestro metro station (1), at the south-eastern corner of the Indro Montanelli Garden. Metro and train station Porta Venezia (1) is only 300m away as well.
