Modern Art Gallery, Milan - by Management
Description
The Galleria d'Arte Moderna of Milan ("GAM") houses Italian and European works from the 18th to the 20th centuries and arguably the most important Lombard collection of 19th-century art. It is located inside the 18th century Neo-classical Villa Reale. Besides the European paintings and sculptures, there is also a collection of oriental art called the "Grassi Collection".
Access & Transport
The museum is next to the Palestro metro station (1), on the southern edge of the Indro Montanelli Garden. Metro Turati (3) is only 300m away as well.
Instructions & Recommendations
It is recommended to book the ticket online at the following link: https://museicivicimilano.vivaticket.it Some temporary exhibitions have a surcharge of €5 / pers.
Environmental & Social
No environmental data available. Some environment impact to run the museum (mostly electricity). Positive from a social perspective as it helps spread culture and the arts
Conclusion
Unlike some of the top-tier international museum, GAM is more focused and, in many ways, less overwhelming, so that visitors can take their time enjoying the artwork whilst still covering all or most of the rooms. Location and price are good as well; highly recommended for art enthusiasts.
